Seth Jaffee Profile

This is a profile that I wrote for my JOUR 306 class in the Fall of 2013. The profile is on Seth Jaffee who is the head of development at Tasty Minstrel Games. I'll keep the intro short, so here is the profile story, hopefully you enjoy it, Feel free to leave comments or questions.

TUCSON, Ariz. - - Kids can be unsure of what they want to be when they grow up and answers can vary. Some kids will want to be a police officer, a firefighter or a doctor. Yet a few will shrug their shoulders and say “I don't know.”

SethJaffee, an everyday man with glasses, short brunette hair and a slender build was one whom had no idea what he wanted to be as a kid. He continued school and stuck with classes he was good at, ones that revolved around math and science.

“My dad said 'Oh maybe you'll be good at engineering,'” Jaffee said, so he did.

He received a bachelors degree in civil engineering from the Universityof Arizona in December of 2000 and went on to work in his field, unaware of his true calling.

RinCon '13

Granted this is a bit late since RinCon was held in October, but I've been busy with school amongst

other things. Anyways here is a little bit about the festivities.

TUCSON, Ariz. - - Walking through the front doors of the Holiday Inn on Palo Verde Road, some people might feel as if they were transported to another world.

In one area of the hotel there is a venturing party of humans, dwarves and elves seeking to find riches and slay their enemies. A couple away from them a gang of mobsters bribing and backstabbing their way to the top of their syndication.

Across the room groups of super heroes working together to fend off yet another attempt at world domination from an evil mastermind.

Just another day at the gaming table.

Assignment #6: A & B Roll "A Loft Employee"

For this assignment I was able to get in touch with an employee from The Loft Theater. His name is Daniel "Dang" Terry and he is an entertaining interview. While our interview session went off on tangents and rants at times, I did find it interesting when he talked about the disappearance of 35mm prints. So that became the focus of this project. He also happens to be a musician and I got some good footage of that as well, it just didn't fit in. Maybe in a future project. Anyways be sure to check out my video on Daniel "Dang" Terry below, enjoy.

Thanks an play well,

TONGIAKI

Guess who is finally back with another board game to discuss? Ok I'm pretty sure you have figured out that it's me.

Sorry for the excessive delay, but I had to spend most of all my spare time on doing homework for college, lame excuse I know.

Hopefully, over this summer I will be able to post some more second-hand findings and update you on some new projects that I've taken on.

Anyways, now to the part that you want.

Okay so once again I was sifting through different areas around the Bookmans on Speedway and Wilmot trying to find something interesting to pick up.

That is when I stumbled upon "Tongiaki."

This copy was printed in 2004 by ÜberPlay, the game was created by Thomas Rauscher.

The box was the first thing that grabbed my attention as the artwork was intriguing and I tend to pick things up that say "Über" on them, what can I say I'm a sucker.

Final Project JOUR 307: Foster Care

Here is my final project, it is on the foster care system in Arizona, dealing with the misconceptions as well as the what it entails exactly.

I wish I would have got some more interviews and B-Roll for this, but time constraints made it hard.

There was a lot of information that could have been included, but I feel it works well with what had.

I hope you enjoy the video, feel free to post comments or if you have any question, just post them and I'll get back to your as soon as I can.

JOUR 307 Blog #5: ThingLink

ThingLink mobile is getting ready to launch next month for the iPhone and iPad.

It has already intrigued journalists, as the Washington Post tried the app out over the weekend at the White House Correspondent's Dinner.

ThingLink allows people to link other items such as videos, other photos, information links or just add caption to a photo and people can see the links right on the photo.

It allows people to have more interaction with the photo that they are viewing.

Journalists have found it useful for giving its viewers more information instead of just viewing a photo. Journalists also want people to be more interactive with the news that is put in front of them on a daily basis.

Assignment #7 A and B Roll 2: Live, Breathe and Eat Photography

This A and B Roll project I did on Larry Gaurano, an award winning photographer who is currently enrolled Pima Community College. He aspires to be a sports photographer for ESPN, since being a lifelong sports fan.  I hope you enjoy the video and be sure to comment about the video, or if you have any questions please let me know and I'll reply as soon as possible.

Thanks and play well,
