Snorta!

Welcome back once again to my Second Hand Findings blog. This week I will be talking about Snorta!

I found a copy of Snorta! at the Bookmans on Speedway and Wilmot for $5. The game retails for around $23, although they have changed the artwork on the box and have apparently have changed the style of the pieces as well.

Now the copy that I got was obviously well used as the box has seen better days and the cards do have some wear and tear. This doesn't bother me as it's nice to know that the previous owner must have had a good time with it. (Plus I only paid five bucks for it)

Snorta! was originally printed in 2004. It was printed by "Out of the Box" Publishing Company. The company has put out other games such as "Word on the Street," "7 Ate 9" and "10 Days in the USA."

The game was designed by Chris Childs and Tony Richardson.

Snorta! is a great family game as the object of the game is to make animal noises.

At the beginning of the game each player draws an animal randomly out of the bag. There are 12 animals to choose from; a cat, a cow, a dog, a donkey, a duck, a frog, a mouse, a owl, a pig, a rooster, a sheep and a snake.

Now there are 97 cards, eight for each of the 12 animals and one swap card. After each player draws an animal out of the bag, the cards get dealt out to each player until there are no cards left. Each player also gets a barn, that players will hide their animal in once the game starts.

All the cards stay face down and each player "sounds off" making their animal noise. After that the animal is stashed in the barn.

Each player keeps their cards face down and take turns flipping them over one at a time. You keep turning over cards until there is a match between two players. The two players whose cards match, one of them has to be first to make the other players animal noise.
The player who lost then takes the other players stack of cards that he has turned over and adds them to his pile.

There is a swap card as well in the deck and when the player turns that card over he/she gets to change out is animal from the left over ones in the bag.

The game ends when one player runs out of cards and that player is declared the winner.

Snorta! is for 3-8 players, ages 8 to adult and takes only about 20 to 30 minutes to play a game.

You can also play the game with younger kids as instead of hiding the animals in the barns you can just leave them out in plain sight.

The game is a lot of fun as people are trying to remember everybody else's animals and trying to make the appropriate noises.

I always tend to make the noise of the animal on the card instead of the other players animal.

I recommend this game for groups of friends who are looking for a simple game and a game that causes a good amount of laughs.

Be sure to check out next week when I talk about yet another new used game.

Plus make sure that you keep up on my brother's "Let's Play" channel on YouTube.

Also check out the "Table Top" channel on YouTube as well, to learn how to play some different games.

Have a great week and I'll see you next time round.

Thanks and play well,
